Who created 36paths?
From December 2013 to December 2015, I got over 50 interviews and landed 4 job offers in Canada, ranging from Investment Banking and Debt Capital Markets to Risk Management and Financial Planning & Analysis. How did I do it?
First, let me tell you my story. In July 2013, I left China to pursue my Master of Management & Professional Accounting degree at University of Toronto. My main goal was to leverage this degree to launch my finance career in Canada. But after receiving more than 200 “Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately...” auto-rejection emails, I realized that, as an ESL international student without any Canadian work experience, applying online just couldn’t cut it.
Being a newcomer with no connections in Canada, I made many mistakes and wasted a ton of time trying things that didn’t work. But in this trial and error process, I stumbled on a system that did work. In fact, it worked extremely well. Every student at 36paths who implemented my finance job search system has succeeded in landing a great finance job offer in Canada.
In August 2017, I started 36paths (which stands for all kinds of career paths in ancient China) because I realized that millions of students are facing the same challenge I faced and that existing career coaching services are generic, outdated and ineffective. Today, 36paths has helped hundreds of students in Canada get started on a finance career path they love.
